Update on manufacturing

If you want something done right, do it yourself!

I am getting a Form Labs Fuse 1!

Production starts in early October

Howdy folks,

As many of you may be aware, my primary manufacturer, Shapeways, declared bankruptcy on July 1st. Over the past month, I’ve ordered numerous prototypes from various sources, but so far, I haven’t found any SLS 3D printing service that matches the consistent quality and precision that Shapeways provided for many years.

Therefore, I have decided to start 3D printing SLS parts in-house. To that end, I have ordered a Form Labs Fuse 1 and related equipment.

I have been using a Form Labs Fuse 1 professionally for over four years, and it consistently produces high-quality, precise parts. It will take at least a month or two to fully set up with the new equipment. I appreciate your patience during this transition.

I will continue to seek new vendors for non-plastic items, such as 3D-printed steel.

In the meantime, you can still order the Stainless Steel comb or a my custom designed ARC exploded diagram t-shirt. The ever popular PC Doodle flashlight also nets me a buck, and supports another small manufacturer.

Feel free to visit my Discord channel as well—I usually discuss and showcase my Fallout prop designs there, but I’m also happy to chat about the shop or any multitool ideas you might have.

Thanks for your support!

P.S. I am aware that Shapeways Netherland is reforming as Manuevo.com. I have been on contact with them and hope to use them again in the future.
