I actually have a holster I didn't dye, and I have to say I much prefer the black. It comes out much better looking and even after constant use you don't see much markings going on. If it's going to patina it'll probably take much longer.
Its a subtle black that makes your holster or gadget holder a little more stealthy. Good stuff
